Environment
- Participation of the community (December 2003-September 2004) in a bi-community program funded by USAID and UNDP and realized by UNOPS. Theme of the program was “Listing of Cyprus Organic Production Disposal Sources in City and Rural Areas”. It was realized by AKTI Research Centre, Aglantzia Municipality, Ergates Community and Lefka Environmental Group. 15 families from our community and 45 families from Aglantzia municipality participated.
- Participation of the community (since May 2006) in a European Union program, funded by UNDP titled “Home Composting”. This program is very interesting as it explains how quality soil is produced from house and garden garbage.16 families from our community participate in the program expected to be concluded in November.
- Common suggestion in the European Program of Community Initiative “INTERREG III B/ARCHIMED”, Measure 3.1 “Protection, Planning and Administration of Natural Resources and Landscapes” so as to fund project: “No Waste MED!” with interstate supporters the Municipality of Elefsina (GREECE), Municipality of Siphnos (GREECE), Municipality of Ergates (CYPRUS), Municipality of Paros (GREECE) and the Ecological Recycling Company (GREECE).
